The Town of Milton is seeking public input on how and where future growth may shape the community, to inform Milton’s new Official Plan.

Public engagement is at the heart of We Make Milton, the new Official Plan project that will manage growth and development in the community to the year 2051.

The Growing in Milton step of the project explores policy options regarding:
Promoting a local approach to growth.
Establishing Milton’s future land use structure.
Managing growth within the settlement areas.
Envisioning growth and promoting good practice.
Promoting resource and environmental protection.
Delivering infrastructure and community services.
How to get involved:
The community can visit Let’s Talk Milton to engage in a variety of ways:
Read the draft background and policy considerations reports.
Complete the survey before September 29.
Attend an engagement session online or in person. (See details below.)
Share your thoughts on any Official Plan topic any time in the Feedback Forum.
Attend a Growing in Milton engagement session:
Online:
Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 7 p.m. Register for Zoom webinar.
Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 3 p.m. Register for Zoom webinar.
Tuesday. September 26, 2023 at 10 a.m. Register for Zoom webinar.
In person:
Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 7 p.m. Milton Town Hall. Milton Room. No pre-registration required.
A report with policy recommendations is expected to go to Milton Council for approval in November.

Please note that application intake is open for the 2023 Milton Community Fund Program.



The deadline for application submission is Mon, Sep. 11, 2023 at 4:30 p.m., for activities and initiatives occurring in 2024


There is approximately $425,000 available for distribution via cash grants for the 2023 program.
Successful applicants will be awarded funds in January 2024.
Additional information, applications and guidelines are available on the Town’s website.




Organizations that have not already done so, may also be interested in applying to the Milton Small Grant Program for the 2023 term.
Applications are accepted throughout the year. This grant is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Should annual program funding be depleted prior to the end of the calendar year, the application window will close from that point and for the remainder of the year.
